“Fossett's first major exploit was to swim across the Channel in 22 hours in 1985.”
The ACO biography states 22 hours in 1985. Source gives the time to the hour. The stored 79200 seconds preserves that stated value. The original Washington Post profile, opened independently, dates the swim to September 1985 and calls it more than 22 hours; that earlier floor remains explicit. A later Chicago Magazine profile reports 22 hours, 15 minutes; no new time value is proposed in this source repair.
