2025
- 5K20:35
“ran the Stanford Medicine My Heart Counts 5K for the third year in a row, coming in at his second fastest time, 20:35.”
Runner's World article of 2025-05-08; race date Sunday 2025-04-27 from Stanford's event listing. 6:38/mile. An aggregator adds 33rd of 1,214 and 4th in M40-44 (not checked against official results).
2024
- 5K20:58
“he lined up for the Stanford Medicine My Heart Counts 5K and finished in an official time of 20:58.”
Runner's World story reprinted by My Best Runs. Race date Sunday 2024-04-21 from Stanford's event page. He raced under the alias 'Martin Salzburg'; his own post said '21 mins'. 8th in M35-39. His daughter Max ran her first 5K.
2023
- Murph (1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, 1-mile run, 20 lb vest)39:58
“all while wearing a 20lb weighted pack. This year I got it done in 39:58.”
Zuckerberg's own Facebook caption on Memorial Day (Monday 2023-05-29), quoted by Fitness Volt. He calls Murph a yearly Memorial Day tradition. Business Insider reported his comment that he did a partitioned Murph (smaller alternating sets), not the Rx order, and that his Rx time would be slower. Fortune (2023-05-31) says 'under 40 minutes'. Some commenters questioned the timing. Effort: timed self-challenge done for time, treated as max. Changed from effort unknown and confidence medium: the quote is now his own words. No time found for other years (2026 post gave none).
- 5K19:34
“The CEO of Meta crossed the line in 19:34, good for 11th out of 885 participants”
Official result 19:34 per Canadian Running ('Results posted at raceroster.com confirm 19:34'); his Garmin showed 19:34.8. InsideHook: 4th in M35-39, 6:18/mile. He commented: 'I don't think I've done a sub-20 min 5K since high school.'
2016
- Mile5:58
“Zuckerberg wrote that he ran his fastest mile (1,609m) of 2016 in 5:58”
Dated from his 2016 Facebook post on reaching 365 miles (July 14, 2016): fastest mile of 2016 up to then. Canadian Running's own pages say the same (5:58) but time out for the checker, so the My Best Runs reprint is the source. One reprint of a 2016 Runner's World piece gives 5:53, so confidence is medium. Probably a training-run split, not a race.
