Greg LeMond interview, part 1 - BikeRaceInfo oral history (2007-02-24)

LeMond does not state the unit; the relative unit (mL/kg/min) is the usual one for this figure. The test date is not given; the interview date is stored. In the same answer he says his 1989 tests averaged about 6.2 to 6.4 litres of oxygen, which at racing weight 'would be 92, 93, 94'; that is approximate and derived, so it is not stored. The widely cited 92.5 mL/kg/min is hedged ('reported to have') and was disputed in November 2025 by Johan Bruyneel, who showed a 1988 test result of 74.7 (cyclinguptodate.com). Found through a Gemini Deep Research report (batch of 2026-10-30).
